A Note:

This talk is based on a paper which was written for Marquette University's Philosophy Graduate Conference. The theme for 2023 was "Hidden Figures in Philosophy." Instead of a particular figure, I chose to write on the figures surrounding a feminist literary magazine from pre-war Japan. This historical sketch relies on the work of feminists before me in an attempt to articulate how we might see a story of Japanese feminism as being central to Japanese philosophy and how we see feminism today.
